Our junior athletes benefit greatly from our 24/7 guidance and week by week year-round program. Without this a lot of talented young athletes tend to gravitate towards poor nutrition, distractions from social media and will generally just follow what their friends are doing (which isn’t much). Unfortunately parents requests to motivate their child into doing extra training and living a healthy lifestyle gets lost in the sea of also requesting them to do chores, get ready to leave on time, go to bed at a reasonable hour etc etc. This is where having a professional outside opinion really does help – a voice to say,

“If you are serious about becoming a professional athlete this is what you have to do”.

A young athlete left to find information on strength conditioning in their own way will rarely have the initiative to follow it long enough that it has meaningful results or regress the exercises in a way that is safe and manageable. Jackson Athletic Performance will lay the foundations with our beginner youth athletes the proper way through coaching sprinting/running technique, body proprioception (teaching them how to isolate and control certain parts of their body) and introducing them to gym work through regressed body resistance exercises.

The science tells us that for adolescents’ certain physical qualities can be taken advantage training and developing during biological leaps. For example during the age of 14-16 during peak lung and heart organ development we can take advantage of developing a foundation of elite aerobic capacity, This increased capacity the athlete will carry for life.
